Apple may finally take Google head on and launch its own search engine. If media reports are to be believed, an important deal between Apple and Google is coming to end. As per the deal, Google pays billions of dollars every year to Apple to be the default search engine on Safari.

  • There are several indicators which suggest that Apple may be working towards its own search engine.
  • Apple is listing jobs in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) for experts.
  • Apple’s own search engine is likely to be more personalised and without ads, as per reports

Apple may reportedly be working on launching its own search engine. According to an online report, there are several indicators that support the move – from job announcements for search engineers to its Spotlight Search bypassing Google Search with iOS 14 beta. Google reportedly pays billions of dollars to Apple to remain the company’s default search engine on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. However, a report said in July that the deal has come under the attention of a UK markets regulator. All these factors contribute to the conjecture that the Cupertino-giant may indeed be looking at developing its own search engine

Reports  have it that Google pays Apple billions to remain as default search engine on the Safari Web Browser

TikTok said potentially disfiguring beauty ‘hacks,’ such as using bleach on your teeth, don’t break its rules on physical harm

A BBC investigation found potentially harmful and disfiguring beauty “hacks” circulating on tiktok

TikTok told Business Insider that “keeping people on TikTok safe is a top priority” and that its community guidelines “make clear that we will remove content promoting dangerous  behaviour or activities that might lead to serious injury or physical harm.

These “hacks” included chemically removing moles at home, using food-grade bleach to whiten your teeth, and applying eyelash glue to your lips to make them appear plumper

However, the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Dental Association and the British Skin Foundation – who viewed the videos – have today issued warnings about copying these treatments on social media. please read this blog

Apple blocked our update until we added in app purchases : wordpress

Apple apparently blocked wordpress app update to force IAP support

According to his tweet, there was no way for the company to issue updates or bug fixes until it caved to a demand support in-app purchases (that Apple would receive a cut of) for its plans

Apple is facing a fight from Epic Games over the terms of that agreement, as well as growing scrutiny over its market dominance and how it exercises control over developers via its App Store. As such, it’s an interesting to see that power flexed, especially when restricting fixes or updates could cause issues for the app developer and users.
